You won't believe this...or maybe you will.
A recent study from Arizona State University suggests your weight is closely connected to your friendships and social networks. They studied about 100 women, some obese, others not.
They found the obese women more often hung out with other obese women. That's not really a surprise. Here are several possible reasons:
1) birds of a feather,
2) friends share similar habits (especially eating choices and quantities) and,
3) negative peer pressure.
ASU News said, in a recent article, friends often follow one another's choices. Think about it, when the server asks" Will you have dessert", the article said people often "look to others" to make the choice. So, if your girlfriend orders dessert, then you're more likely to indulge.

I think it makes sense... if you are with friends that are on a diet and watch what they eat, then you will be more likely to watch what you eat.
